A few months back, I bought my first Golden Goose sneakers (and shared them first in this post!), and have been asked a lot about them ever since. So many that I figured I’d dive in and give you a detailed review! I’ve also worn them enough now that I feel like I have a good grip on their quality, and golden goode a bunch of related details about them, which you’ll see me go more into detail about.

Are they true to size?
They’re true to size in my experience, at least for me.
They haven’t stretched at all, so if you’re between sizes, I’d go up
Are they comfortable?
They felt good right away. I wear no-show socks with them, especially since they reduce sweat. Top-quality leather, so it’s much more easy than breaking in plastic-based shoes. Bonus, they’re already distressed so your feet just adjust easily.
How durable are they?
They look worn from the start, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over the city, and they’ve held up beautifully. The laces are intact, and the shape stayed solid. Since the aesthetic is distressed, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
How do they compare to other sneakers?
Nothing else compares in comfort or quality. I wear Vejas and Tretons too, but Golden Goose wins in both comfort and quality. They have a hidden arch lift that adds a little height — making your legs look longer. Not to mention, they’re not mass-produced, so each pair is unique. And the sparkle on mine? Stunning.
Would you recommend them?
Absolutely! Just try not to pay full price. They’re not cheap, so getting them discounted is worth it. Still, I think they’re worth a few hundred bucks, especially if you pick something you’ll wear a lot. I chose a loud pair, but a neutral version would also be smart.

Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and they’ve held up beautifully. Nothing has torn, and the structure feels strong.
Because they already look worn, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
